Retia, LLC's public repository is currently named `DefconBadge2026`, but its immutable first source-release commit calls the project `DEF CON badge (2024)` and its README is titled `DEF CON Badge (2024) — ESP32-S3`. That source snapshot includes KiCad and fabrication material named `2024_def_con_badge_v1`, a badge photograph, and high-level hardware documentation. The official DEF CON archive identifies the 2024 event as DEF CON 32, so the record is attached to that existing edition as a retrospectively documented independent artifact; neither Retia nor DEF CON source reviewed here calls it an official Human badge, an attendee entitlement, or a confirmed event handoff.

WyrdWyrks' live Uberflux listing identifies the $150 Celestial Wayfinder Badge as a DEF CON 34 pre-sale. At this August 3, 2026 source pass, the listing shows 5 sold and 95 remaining, with four pickup labels: DC34 Reddit Meetup Wednesday, DC34 Reddit Meetup Thursday, and DEF CON 34 BadgeLife 1 and 2. DEFCON Furs' official 2026 site and Hack Your Lives donation-store listing identify a distinct 2026 #badgelife badge for the DEF CON 34 period. The currently sold-out listing describes an assembled badge plus a blank PCB, an RP2040, LoRa radio, NFC, 48 RGB LEDs, MicroPython, touch points, and an SAO 1.69bis interface. It says paid orders will be assembled and shipped by September 30, while blanks were offered for in-person DEF CON pickup. Those are organizer-published preorder and planned-fulfillment statements, not proof that every order shipped, that each unit has the described final configuration, or that a specific recipient collected one.

The maker's live Uberflux product payload describes a $55 125-unit presale and currently reports 125 sold with zero remaining, no shipping options, and DEF CON 34 contest-booth pickup only; that is a time-specific availability snapshot, not proof of completed manufacture, collection, or delivery. A matching maker-owned, commit-pinned `dcbokonon/darknet-smao` release now publishes the v1.4 KiCad project, fabrication outputs, BOM/placement data, firmware build material, and RF-tuning source, alongside an MIT-licensed official upstream board render. This is a source-backed independent pre-event mesh-radio add-on record, not independent RF/compliance validation, a DEF CON organizer-issued product, conference credential, admission right, or completed fulfillment record.
Champion-tier nRF52840 LoRa Meshtastic badge
The Ekoparty 2026 electronic badge, included with the Champion ticket tier while supplies last. On October 3, 2026, four days before the October 7-9 Buenos Aires conference, badge-team member Nicolas Restbergs (Fábrica Marciana) published the ekoparty-badge-2026 repository, which calls itself the firmware for the official Ekoparty 2026 badge: a Meshtastic node on an nRF52840 with an SX1262 LoRa radio, a 0.96-inch OLED, Bluetooth pairing with the Meshtastic phone app, a piezo buzzer, six rear SK6812 backlight pixels, and a separate status pixel. The release v1.0.3 adds a schematic, pin map, user manual, and the EKOBOOT bootloader image; v1.0.4 followed on October 5, and an EasyEDA Pro project and a low-temperature-solder fragility warning were added on October 8, during the conference. By October 9, 2026 Ekoparty's own event page carried an EKO BADGE ELECTRÓNICO section describing the badge as a customized Meshtastic build that works off-grid and links to the badge team's guide, and an October 12 attendee writeup confirms the event took place with Meshtastic Eko Badges in hand. Production count and allocation stay unconfirmed.

Neither source establishes individual handout, production, or final deployed-image outcomes.

Hackaday Europe 2026 brought the 2025 Hackaday Supercon Communicator Badge to Lecco: a retro-styled keyboard badge with LoRa mesh experimentation, MicroPython/LVGL app support, and post-event Meshtastic reflash framing.
Maker-announced independent Hacker Pager revision for DEF CON 34; handoff outcome unverified
A first-hand Exploitee.rs announcement says the team is bringing a new Hacker Pager revision to DEF CON 34, with planned online availability and BadgeLife Village pickup. Its official project site documents an ESP32-S3, Semtech SX1262 LoRa radio, monochrome LCD, microSD, USB-C, rechargeable LiPo power, buttons, speaker, vibration motor, LEDs, and open design sources; its current update page labels firmware 2.7.26.pager as DEF CON 34. Public electronics and case repositories publish KiCad/BOM and mechanical source material under CERN-OHL-S-2.0. This is sufficient evidence for a distinct, independently sold pre-event BadgeLife artifact associated with DEF CON 34, not evidence of DEF CON issuance, authorization, admission, a completed sale, pickup, delivery, final production configuration, or rights-cleared image.

Hackers Teaching Hackers' official materials establish the June 3-5, 2026 Columbus-area practitioner conference with villages and a CTF. Zack Nagaich's public Eagle 5 repository labels itself the 2026 HTH conference-badge firmware and documents an nRF52840 plus SX1262 electronic badge with LEDs, USB roles, RNode/Reticulum-oriented firmware, on-badge CLI, and CTF source context. An attendee account independently says their light-up badge was part of the conference CTF, while the organizer has not directly published this 2026 repository or a distribution record.

ESP32-S3 Meshtastic LoRa badge with Type-B fallback
The ROOTCON 20 con-goers guide documented a September 2026 badge distribution model: electronic badges distributed first-come during on-site check-in while supplies last, with a simpler Type-B non-electronic badge fallback. After the September 23-25 event, ROOTCON's official media server published a post-event ROOTCON 20 drop on September 28, 2026, including rc20-human-fw.bin, a compiled ESP32-S3 firmware image that identifies itself as the ROOTCON 20 Badge and runs a Meshtastic LoRa mesh stack on an SX1262 radio with an SSD1315 OLED, four WS2812B LEDs, and Tetris and Breakout games.

Electronic Cats' public Badge_Tropicon-2026 repository describes its project as the official TROPICON 2026 badge and publishes native KiCad design material. Its commit-pinned hardware README identifies an ESP32-C6, a 2.79-inch 142×428 colour IPS display using an NV3007, LoRa hardware, and an AHT30 sensor. Badge.Team's homepage still advertises LoRa, a keyboard, a big screen, and an ESP32-P4-class processor, while the official badgeteam/hackerhotel2027-hardware repository, under active layout work by Renze Nicolai and Julian Scheffers since September 2026, holds a CERN-OHL-P-2.0 KiCad design for a starfish-shaped CH643 LED-matrix board with infrared and LiPo charging, with a prototype-1 Gerber and assembly package committed on October 22, 2026. Which direction ships is not yet stated.
