Hackers Teaching Hackers 2026 Eagle 5 Badge

nRF52840/SX1262 electronic conference badge with a public post-event GPL firmware archive

Hackers Teaching Hackers' official materials establish the June 3-5, 2026 Columbus-area practitioner conference with villages and a CTF. Zack Nagaich's public Eagle 5 repository labels itself the 2026 HTH conference-badge firmware and documents an nRF52840 plus SX1262 electronic badge with LEDs, USB roles, RNode/Reticulum-oriented firmware, on-badge CLI, and CTF source context. An attendee account independently says their light-up badge was part of the conference CTF, while the organizer has not directly published this 2026 repository or a distribution record.

Not Just a Crosswalk SAO (DEF CON 34)

Planned open-hardware CH32V003 light-up Simple Add-On for DEF CON 34

The maker-owned public `keeloi79/not-a-crosswalk-sao` repository explicitly calls Not Just a Crosswalk a Simple Add-On (SAO) project for DEF CON 34. Its README documents a CH32V003 F4P6 RISC-V controller, eighteen side-emitting addressable LEDs, persistent palette/effect settings, two controls, 3.3 V host-badge power stepped to 5 V or a USB-C 5 V input path, and claimed SAO V1.69bis/V2.0 compatibility. The source tree includes documentation, schematics, firmware, build instructions, and a three-part license declaration: CERN-OHL-S v2 hardware, GPLv3 firmware, and CC BY-SA 4.0 documentation/creative works. This is a source-backed planned independent DEF CON 34 add-on, not evidence of a final manufactured run, price, sales channel, quantity, pickup, recipient, host-badge test matrix, electrical-safety validation, official DEF CON affiliation, admission right, or rights-cleared badge image.
