The public DEF CON 34 BadgeLife roster contains a new listing submitted as Lockheed Martin - Aeronautics Cyber Range (ACR) for a badge titled SR-71. The named team says the badge is only winnable through a CTF it plans to host at its Aerospace Village booth and on its Discord, and describes a TCG-type card-collection game using NFC peer-to-peer and reader modes. That is concrete first-hand pre-event artifact evidence, while Aerospace Village's official page independently establishes the DEF CON 34 context; neither source publishes the badge's physical construction, NFC-hardware placement, or final distribution.

An official BSides Des Moines 2026 badge documented by the iot-pwn bsidesdsm26 repository as a WCH CH585 RISC-V board with an integrated ISO 14443A NFC reader, four SK6812 RGBW LEDs, a main control button, audio, and a three-layer CTF with two static flags, an eight-tag village-collection challenge, and a hash-based unlock, for the June 13, 2026 edition in Ankeny, Iowa.

Sold-out RP2040, LoRa, NFC, and LED community-event badge preorder
DEFCON Furs' official 2026 site and Hack Your Lives donation-store listing identify a distinct 2026 #badgelife badge for the DEF CON 34 period. The currently sold-out listing describes an assembled badge plus a blank PCB, an RP2040, LoRa radio, NFC, 48 RGB LEDs, MicroPython, touch points, and an SAO 1.69bis interface. It says paid orders will be assembled and shipped by September 30, while blanks were offered for in-person DEF CON pickup. Those are organizer-published preorder and planned-fulfillment statements, not proof that every order shipped, that each unit has the described final configuration, or that a specific recipient collected one.
Pre-event independent two-object ESP32-S3 interaction badge project for DEF CON 34
Two contemporaneous project posts authored by the public Reddit account u/zer0patient and signed H4irl1n3 M0gg3r5 describe an independent planned DEF CON 34 Zombie Badge project. The later source explicitly describes two objects using ESP32-S3, IR, NFC, BLE, a buzzer, and a source-described transmission/counter relationship; it also announces a firmware-based, multi-stage CTF and an unreleased backend. It further describes crew-operated live transmission zones, fixed Cure Stations, hidden 3D-printed medkit props, and a separate brain-in-a-jar SAO. The earlier post calls the work the team's first year making badge or badges, says a second variant is part of the experience, and announces intended drop-based distribution. These are source-backed pre-event maker statements about a real planned artifact system, not proof of final manufactured variants, component selection, wireless behavior, game implementation, inventory, drops, event authorization, DEF CON organizer affiliation, conference admission, or reusable-image rights.
Planned NFC attendee identity badge with a collectible-card exchange
HITCON's official 2026 ticket and events pages state that published ticket packages include an attendee badge and that every attendee badge is embedded with an NTAG215 NFC chip. The planned NFC Battle asks attendees to tap phones against each other's badges to exchange and unlock collectible cards. That establishes a source-backed future NFC identity artifact and social event game, but not a PCB, display, controller, firmware, reader/writer configuration, physical material, or final allocation record.
Pre-event RP2350B interactive Simple Add-On planned for DEF CON 34
ParallelLogic's Uberflux listing, public MalO_SAO source/design repository, and first-hand Hackaday.io project diary document a planned DEF CON 34 Simple Add-On based on the SCP-1471-A MalO setting. The marketplace's August 4, 2026 snapshot lists $50, 43 sold, and 57 remaining. The repository says the units are intended for online sale and DEF CON 34 handout in August 2026, identifies an RP2350B, 16 MB external flash, 1.5-inch 128 by 128 grayscale OLED, standard six-pin SAO header, USB-C, capacitive touch, potentiometer, buzzer, microphone, hall sensor, IMU, ambient-light sensor, IR transmit/receive, NFC/RFID, and LED banks. Its project diary confirms the work is ongoing and documents early prototype testing. The repository declares the work CC BY-SA 3.0. This is a source-backed pre-event independent badge record, not proof that a final revision has shipped, that all promoted functions are complete, that every radio/sensor interaction is safe or private, that a named third-party lore asset grants image rights, that the project is DEF CON-issued, or that it grants admission.
Founder-announced 3D-printed/NFC badge for Pirate Pieces of Eight
NaClCON's official registration included a NaClCON Badge and access to the Pirate Pieces of Eight CTF, while the official schedule listed a CTF and Badge Intro. A public pre-event announcement by founder Luke McOmie (Pyr0) describes a 3D-printed/NFC conference badge for the Pieces of Eight CTF and Pirate Scavenger Hunt. The event later occurred, but no reviewed post-event source directly establishes final badge fabrication, attendee handoff, or the announced NFC implementation, so this is retained as a source-backed pre-event artifact announcement rather than a shipped-hardware claim.

NorthSec 2026's official registration page lists a new social electronic badge as an included item for conference, CTF, combo, and training ticket holders while supplies lasted. The official competition page's retained 2026 Solarpunk section says the hackable electronic badge was fully integrated into the CTF, with badge challenges worth points and on-site badge-firmware tampering among the physical tracks. Official villages pages document badge pickup through attendees' nSec order QR codes, soldering-village activity where attendees could enhance their badge with blinking electronic parts, and a badge museum. On August 3, after the May event, NorthSec published the separate Apache-2.0 `nsec/badge-2026` repository. Its commit-pinned hardware and source tree documents an ESP32-S3 badge design with an ST25R3916 NFC front end, six buttons, eighteen WS2812/NeoPixel LEDs, a 200×200 GDEH0154D67 / SSD1681 e-paper path, KiCad design files, production BOM/CPL/Gerbers, PlatformIO firmware, conference/CTF partitions, CTF assets, and dock/SAO directories.
Maker-documented RP2040 e-ink/NFC game-jam badge
Kai Pereira's public archive identifies these as Overglade hackathon badges designed for the completed Singapore game jam. The device has an RP2040, passive NFC, an onboard e-ink driver, and an exposed ticket-shaped PCB with public KiCad and MicroPython source trees. Official Hack Club pages establish the event, but not a badge entitlement or all-recipient allocation.

Electronic Cats' public badge-pwnterrey-2026 repository describes itself as the official Pwnterrey 2026 badge and publishes a native KiCad hardware project plus a CERN Open Hardware Licence v1.2 file. Pwnterrey's official site places the free cybersecurity conference in Monterrey on May 29, 2026; Bishop Fox separately corroborates the date and Rincón Tostitos By Jardín 85 venue. The source documents a portable headless ESP32-C5 RISC-V badge with USB-C serial context, NFC tag-emulation circuitry, and GPS material. Electronic Cats' companion repository calls itself official Pwnterrey 2026 firmware and preserves an ESP32-C5 Marauder-derived source and build trail. These sources establish a real official event badge and public design and firmware references, but not a production quantity, registration-tier allocation, final assembled configuration, completed recipient handoff, final signed release, safe operational use, or reusable badge-image right.

A Canadian REcon 2026 official electronic badge by Electronic Cats, documented by the official sponsors page and the public badge-recon-2026 repository as a CH32V203 primary board with an RP2040 daughterboard, an SSD1306 OLED, a Semtech SX1262 915 MHz LoRa radio, an NFC PN7150 daughterboard, four buttons, USB-C, and a rich LoRa radar, chat, flag, NFC flag-hunt, magspoof, and Simon challenge surface.
Publicly announced 100-unit ESP32-S3 badge offering planned for DEF CON 34
A contemporaneous public r/Defcon post calls this a Sneakreaper limited-edition DEF CON badge and says only 100 would be available at a Sneakreaper Industries booth; the post author later replies with Hall W4 and $150. The same post names an ESP32-S3-MINI-1-N8, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 13.56 MHz NFC, and programmable LEDs. Crucially, it says that most listed capabilities will not be ready out of the box: only LED colour/brightness changes, a hidden software CTF or scavenger hunt, and NFC read/write are marked as available on DEF CON day 1. The official DEF CON forum fixes the related conference at the Las Vegas Convention Center on August 6-9, 2026. These sources support a real independently announced pre-event hardware offering with a bounded day-one feature claim, not verified seller identity or Sneakreaper Industries relationship, official booth authorization, completed manufacture, final inventory, sale, handoff, electrical design, firmware release, future functionality, lawful-use assurance, DEF CON organizer affiliation, conference admission, or reusable-image rights.
