An official UK BSides Leeds 2026 badge documented by the punk-security repository as an ATtiny814 Artie the Owl board with eighteen SK6812 addressable RGB side-emitting LEDs, six capacitive touch pads, two CR2032 coin cells, and three single-player games whose one-byte EEPROM unlock gates hidden bonus LED animations, for the June 13, 2026 seventh edition at Cloth Hall Court in Leeds.
CH32V003 part-built solder-kit badge with the Lil Chompy text-adventure CTF
BSides Orlando 2026's attendee badge is a retro-futurist CH32V003 RISC-V board, a 1960s World's Fair vision of tomorrow with Lil Chompy the alligator at the wheel of a flying car, handed out as a part-built solder kit and programmed in the conference Soldering Village. Security BSides Orlando's official GitHub organization published the design from August 4, 2026; its 2026-badge repository was not publicly reachable from September 25 and reappeared on September 29-30 with the KiCad source, the EasyEDA full-colour-silkscreen Gerbers as ordered from JLCPCB, the badge firmware, a v1.0.0 release dated September 26, and a README stating that its programmer SAOs flashed all of the attendees' badges in the Soldering Village at BSides Orlando. Three SK6812MINI-E RGB LEDs form the flying car's headlights and a fingerprint-scanner indicator, four self-blinking LEDs light the tower spire and geodesic sphere, two capacitive touch pads sit under the fingerprint and Lil Chompy's head, one AAA cell feeds a TPS61021A boost converter, and the SAO header doubles as an SAOv3 host and a 115200-baud serial console running the Lil Chompy and the World's Fair text-adventure CTF.
Maker-documented DEF CON 34 macropad badge with build guide and released UF2
DCZia's MK9 is a public-source 3×3 mechanical macropad intended as a neck-wearable DEF CON 34 BadgeLife project. Project documentation specifies nine MX switches, RGB per-key and edge lighting, an accelerometer, two 6-pin SAO connectors, USB-C or three-AAA power, CircuitPython firmware, and QMK-compatible hardware. During the August 6-9 conference the repository gained a purchaser-facing build guide saying the badge is pre-flashed with firmware, six build photos, and an August 4 UF2 commit describing the image as released on badges. This is a maker-documented independent badge release, not an official DEF CON admission credential.

Champion-tier nRF52840 LoRa Meshtastic badge
The Ekoparty 2026 electronic badge, included with the Champion ticket tier while supplies last. On October 3, 2026, four days before the October 7-9 Buenos Aires conference, badge-team member Nicolas Restbergs (Fábrica Marciana) published the ekoparty-badge-2026 repository, which calls itself the firmware for the official Ekoparty 2026 badge: a Meshtastic node on an nRF52840 with an SX1262 LoRa radio, a 0.96-inch OLED, Bluetooth pairing with the Meshtastic phone app, a piezo buzzer, six rear SK6812 backlight pixels, and a separate status pixel. The release v1.0.3 adds a schematic, pin map, user manual, and the EKOBOOT bootloader image; v1.0.4 followed on October 5, and an EasyEDA Pro project and a low-temperature-solder fragility warning were added on October 8, during the conference. By October 9, 2026 Ekoparty's own event page carried an EKO BADGE ELECTRÓNICO section describing the badge as a customized Meshtastic build that works off-grid and links to the badge team's guide, and an October 12 attendee writeup confirms the event took place with Meshtastic Eko Badges in hand. Production count and allocation stay unconfirmed.
