Unofficial electronic badge with a documented DEF CON 33 BadgeLife drop schedule
BigTaro's FrogStar 2025 project page calls FrogStar an unofficial DEFCON badge, and the DEF CON 33 Creator Events List schedules a BadgeLife Community Table 1 drop that explicitly names the FrogStar Badge alongside two other BigTaro artifacts. The maker page identifies a Raspberry Pi RP2350, 1.28 inch GC9A01 240 by 240 round LCD, two SAO V1.69bis ports, addressable WS2812B RGB LEDs, an infrared receiver, six buttons, frog-themed CTF and game framing, and a Firmware v1.0 UF2 download with a copy-to-flash instruction. A Tindie listing separately calls it an electronic badge and says it was a Defcon pickup preorder; a later Uberflux listing shows an $80 / seven-sold / 23-remaining snapshot, a DEF CON 34 drop label, and $11 USPS Flat Rate shipping. These sources establish a real independent electronic artifact and a scheduled 2025 event association, not a confirmed completed handout, official DEF CON issuance, admission, exact production count, completed later fulfillment, firmware source release, or reusable-image rights.

Pre-event ESP32-S3 LoRa mesh BadgeLife communicator
WyrdWyrks' live Uberflux listing identifies the $150 Celestial Wayfinder Badge as a DEF CON 34 pre-sale. At this August 3, 2026 source pass, the listing shows 5 sold and 95 remaining, with four pickup labels: DC34 Reddit Meetup Wednesday, DC34 Reddit Meetup Thursday, and DEF CON 34 BadgeLife 1 and 2. The maker describes an ESP32-S3, custom four-layer PCB, 128×128 OLED, SX1276 LoRa, GPS, magnetometer/IMU, five Cherry MX-compatible switches, a rotary encoder, 61 WS2812B LEDs, a buzzer, 3D-printed parts, a Li-ion battery, USB-C updating/charging, a LoRa mesh, Wi-Fi geolocation fallback, and a PWA. The public MIT-licensed firmware repository documents v1/v2/v3 platform variants, a 915 MHz SX127x-class LoRa mesh, GPS/status PingMessage data, PlatformIO build paths, RPC, and remote USB/BLE/web configuration; v4.0.0 publishes v3 and v2 binaries. A separate Fusion360/STL CAD repository and web-companion repository are public but have no detected license. This is a source-backed pre-event independent BadgeLife record, not proof of final fulfillment, a final production BOM, radio/regulatory performance, safety certification, universal update compatibility, official DEF CON admission status, or reusable-image rights.
Pre-event RP2040 mechanical macropad BadgeLife project
DCZia's MK9 is a public-source 3×3 mechanical macropad intended as a neck-wearable DEF CON 34 BadgeLife project. Project documentation specifies nine MX switches, RGB per-key and edge lighting, an accelerometer, two 6-pin SAO connectors, USB-C or three-AAA power, CircuitPython firmware, and QMK-compatible hardware. A public August 2 announcement says the project plans BadgeLife pickup, but this remains a pre-event independent badge rather than an official DEF CON admission credential.
Limited ticket-holder CH573F badge with a public hardware archive
DOJOConf Panamá's official page advertises a limited, separately purchased electronic badge available only to ticket holders, with an integrated OLED, four physical buttons, and a rechargeable USB-C battery. An organizer-controlled update says the 2026 badge will be useful in the CTF, and an Electronic Cats post names that organization as the edition's designer and maker. Electronic Cats' public `badge-dojocon-2026` repository separately identifies itself as the official Badge DojoCon Panamá 2026 archive and has a pre-event v1.0 release. Its commit-pinned documentation records a CH573F RISC-V/BLE design with an OLED, directional buttons, a WS2812B LED, USB-C, and a battery connection. These sources establish a real event artifact and public design trail, not completed delivery or a source-to-recipient configuration mapping.
Pre-event ESP32-C3 bat-shaped LED party-fundraiser badge
Gothcon's official badge store describes a custom bat-shaped PCB LED badge for the free Gothcon dance party at DEF CON 34. The $80 fundraiser package names 44 independently controlled RGB LEDs, a 2,000 mAh Li-Po battery, USB-C recharging with overcharge protection, a removable laser-etched acrylic shield, a custom lanyard, and an ESP32-C3 with 4 MB flash. The public `claviger/gothcon-firmware` repository adds MicroPython firmware, KiCad schematic/PCB/Gerber material, GPIO mapping, pattern/palette controls, and ESP-NOW badge-to-badge contagion. The store explicitly says its SAO connectors are mirrored and not functional with a standard SAO. Pre-orders are closed and the store says badges will be sold at DEF CON; this remains a pre-event party-fundraiser record, not proof of final sales, delivery, party outcome, or official DEF CON credential status.

HackConRD 2026's eBadge was documented by the official HackConRD site, the EBADGE+ ticket tier, the interactive eBadge page, and a public firmware repository that describes an ESP32-C3 badge with ST7789 TFT, CC1101 433 MHz radio, WS2812B LEDs, buzzer, four-button navigation, games, RF friend exchange, fox hunting, learning modules, and persistent profile settings.
CH573F BLE virtual-pet and CTF electronic badge
A source-backed Peruvian Unknown Security Conference 2026 electronic-badge record that joins the official pass's lanyard-and-badge inclusion with Electronic Cats' self-described official Pwn Llama badge repository. Its public history shows hardware work before the June 4-6 Lima event and a July documentation update.
Open ESP32-S3 capacitive light-up workshop badge
leHACK's official 2026 workshop schedule and the French National Cybersecurity Agency's leHACK listing present Badge Hackropole as a novice-accessible workshop in which participants assemble a capacitive light-up badge, solder a microcontroller and eight SMD LEDs, and program preconfigured WLED firmware. FCSC-FR's public hackropole-badge repository supplies the PCB source, assembly instructions, firmware binaries/configuration, and per-file licensing. The programme lists ten 55-minute workshop sessions across June 26-27, but the source trail does not prove final attendance, completed builds, or a conference-wide handout.
