The maker says it detects a user-defined list of BLE MAC addresses to give a heads-up about what is around the user; includes a CTF with Windows Vista-era throwbacks, hardware and software puzzles, unlockable bling and GIFs, two custom PCBs sandwiching a screen for a retro-TV aesthetic, an ESP32-S3-based fully-programmable claim, twelve RGB LEDs, a custom lanyard, and stickers. The DEF CON 33 Creator Events List independently schedules a Friday BadgeLife Community drop naming FightDystopia alongside Submarine and FrogStar. This establishes a source-backed independent 2025 electronic artifact and scheduled event association, not an official DEF CON credential, universal or completed handout, BLE detection mechanism, security or privacy assurance, firmware source release, party-benefit accounting, or reusable-image rights.
Pre-event BTV fundraiser for a DC32-origin ESP32 camera badge
Blue Team Village at DEF CON's Eventbrite offer schedules the BTV Camera Badge as a DEF CON 34 fundraiser for August 7-9, 2026 at the Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall, with in-person village pickup only. It offers an assembled badge and lanyard for $120 or an intermediate-to-advanced soldering kit for $60. The listing says the badge does not take photos; instead, in an appropriate mode, its camera-lens display shows when deauthentication packets are being sent or Flipper Zeros are nearby, and says its brain is an ESP32 board capable of custom software. Bryce's official Clip-Boy shop explicitly presents Clip-Boy as an unofficial DEF CON 34 electronic badge: a wrist-mounted ESP32-S3 artifact with maker-described Wi-Fi/Bluetooth analysis tools, deauthentication detection, customizable LEDs, a theremin, collectibles, and a 3D-printed enclosure. Its live public inventory endpoint currently shows the complete first run at zero availability: 86 $120 Standard, 25 $130 Pro, and five $140 RAD badges, while the storefront says all 152 first-run units shipped and is only gauging interest for a possible second run. The seller states units ship in a passive listen-only mode and that a user may load an optional research build with additional capabilities for authorized testing. This is a current source-backed independent badge record, not a claim of official DEF CON affiliation, DEF CON admission, final hardware/BOM, delivered-unit receipt, a universally available research build, safe/legal use in every jurisdiction, or reusable-image rights.
Publicly announced 100-unit ESP32-S3 badge offering planned for DEF CON 34
A contemporaneous public r/Defcon post calls this a Sneakreaper limited-edition DEF CON badge and says only 100 would be available at a Sneakreaper Industries booth; the post author later replies with Hall W4 and $150. The same post names an ESP32-S3-MINI-1-N8, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 13.56 MHz NFC, and programmable LEDs. Crucially, it says that most listed capabilities will not be ready out of the box: only LED colour/brightness changes, a hidden software CTF or scavenger hunt, and NFC read/write are marked as available on DEF CON day 1. The official DEF CON forum fixes the related conference at the Las Vegas Convention Center on August 6-9, 2026.
