HITCON CMT 2018's official events page documents HITCON Wallet as a limited blockchain electronic badge for Royal VIP and Premium Pass holders, with secure-element cold-wallet functionality, electronic paper, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth Low Energy. The same official page says holders could join a secret activity during the conference and later use the device as an offline physical wallet for Bitcoin or Ethereum.

Somerset Recon's post-event source archive says 400 badges were distributed at BSides San Diego 2024. It documents a custom ESP32-C3 conference board with a Bluetooth LE rock-paper-scissors game, high-level Wargames-themed UART and SAO CTF context, and KiCad, Gerber, BOM, and Arduino-style source material. The README also distinguishes the conference units' earlier firmware from later archived source behavior.
Maker-documented ESP32-S3 electronic conference badge
BSides Knoxville's 2025 official guide says Fox Pick made the event badges. In a public post-event talk, a Fox Pick representative describes the resulting electronic badge as ESP32-S3 based, with Bluetooth Low Energy and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, an SSD1309 display, capacitive touch controls, USB-C, a CH340 USB-UART bridge, battery voltage monitoring and charging/protection circuitry, a NeoPixel status light, and exposed I/O pads. The talk says source code was made available through a QR-linked GitHub page, but this pass did not recover a direct repository URL.

Electronic Cats' public badge-pwnterrey-2026 repository describes itself as the official Pwnterrey 2026 badge and publishes a native KiCad hardware project plus a CERN Open Hardware Licence v1.2 file. Pwnterrey's official site places the free cybersecurity conference in Monterrey on May 29, 2026; Bishop Fox separately corroborates the date and Rincón Tostitos By Jardín 85 venue. The source documents a portable headless ESP32-C5 RISC-V badge with USB-C serial context, NFC tag-emulation circuitry, and GPS material. Electronic Cats' companion repository calls itself official Pwnterrey 2026 firmware and preserves an ESP32-C5 Marauder-derived source and build trail. These sources establish a real official event badge and public design and firmware references, but not a production quantity, registration-tier allocation, final assembled configuration, completed recipient handoff, final signed release, safe operational use, or reusable badge-image right.
