JawnCon's official write-up says it used RetroWiFiModem to simulate the AT command set and drive the LEDs, with a PCB carrying an ESP radio, level shifter, and vintage red LED front; Hackaday covered it as an ESP8266-powered Wi-Fi modem badge for early-Internet services.

Garoa Hacker Clube's own event-period demo repository identifies its REV. 0 board as a badge distributed at BSides SP 2026. The Garoa and official V21 event sources establish the completed São Paulo conference, while the public source trail documents an ESP8266 badge with a 128×64 OLED, buttons, sound/IR path, microSD socket, FTDI programming header, and public KiCad/Gerber/BOM material. It does not prove one final firmware or hardware revision for every conference unit.
Maker-documented ESP CTF challenge badge
A public maker archive explicitly titled Women's International Cybersecurity Challenge Badge 2026 links itself to WICC and documents a hackable serial-CLI CTF badge with ESP8266 and ESP32 target trees, challenge activities, a two-part protective case, and a repository photo of a physical cased device. WICC's official site and Cyber Ireland's post-event recap confirm the completed July 9-10 Dublin competition, but neither organizer source names this exact project. TOG separately reports building 15 ESP8266 hardware flags for the same CTF without identifying them as this archive, so this is a maker-documented event-linked electronic badge—not an organizer-issued credential, general attendee badge, or claim of equivalence to the flags.
